THE LAST SHANGRILA TO BHUTAN (7 night & 8 days)

Day one:Landing to heart of dragon

The flight into Bhutan will takes you to close to the great Himalayas, offering good scenic views of world highest glacial peak and beautiful flow of pa chu(paro river). First experience of the visitor will be clean and fresh air, surrounded by green forest and monasteries. Bhutan Guidance representative will meet you in Paro airport and will be transfer to Thimphu or capital city of Bhutan.If the time permits, you will be taken for sightseeing.

Day Two:Sightseeing in Thimphu

After breakfast, our representative will take you for following sightseeings:
  1. National Library which holds the vast collection of Buddhist text and manuscripts, some dating back to servel hundred years.
  2. Institute of Zorig chusm, where students undertakea six year course on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.
  3. National Memorial stupa built in 1974 in the memory of Late third king
  4. Tashi chhodzong or fortress of glorious religion which houses the throne room for king and various government agencies. It is also residence of chief abbot and central monastic body.
  5. Folk Heritage musem:Open in 2001 and it provides fascinating insight into Bhutanese material culture and way of life.

Day Three:Thimphu to Trongsa

After breakfast, drive to Trongsa via Dochula and Wangduephodrang. Dochula has good view of mountain peaks of Bhutan and 108 stupa which makes the place more beautiful. Descending to wangduephodrang for one hour. We will go for lunch in one of Bhutanese restaurant which gives a good view of wangduephodrang valley. After lunch, we will further drive to Trongsa, stop enroute to Chendebji chorten which has pattern of Kathmandu's swayambhunath stupa, wth eyes painted a the four cardinal points.It was builtin 18th century by Lama Shida from Tibet to cover the remains of an eveil spirit that was subdued at this spot.

Day Four:Trongsa to Bumthang

Walk to Trongsa Dzong builtin 1647 by zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and it is one of the longest dzong(fortress) in Bhutan. We will climb up to Ta-Dzong(watch over) dedicated to the spic hero,king Gesar of ling.
We will drive further to Bumthang or second switzeland to Bhutan via Yu-tongla pass(3400M). The time to reach Bumthang takes 3hours from Trongsa. Once reaching Bumthang, we will visit:
  1. Kurje Monastery where Guru Guru rimpoche body is imprinted on rock
  2. Jambay Lhakhang founded in 7th century by Tibetan King Tsongsen Gampo
  3. Tamzhing monastery :housing some of the oldest wall paintings in Bhutan
  4. Jakar Dzon built in 17th century.
  5. Visit to village.

Day Five:Bumthang to Punakha

After breakfast, we will further explore Bumthang valley, then proceed to Punakha,stopping along the way at Trongsa for Lunch. We will further drive to Punakha and visit Punakha dzong which was built in 1637 to protect from Tibetan Invasion. Punakha is second Capital to Bhutan and serve as winter residence for monk body.

Day six:Punakha to Paro

Drive to Paro. On the way, we will visit Chimi Lhakhang founded in 15th century by divine madman and temple is well known for its fertility blessing. We will further proceed to paro and visit in Traditional farmhouse to experience the Bhutanese lifestyle and culture of the local people.

Day Seven:Hike To Tigernest

After Breakfast, we will hike to Tigernest where second Lord Buddha (Guru rimpoche) came riding on the back of tigress in 8th century. After Guru rimpoche, Many great saints visited to meditated in this holy place. Taksang is located above the 900m from Paro valley. Visitor enjoys the good view of waterfall and monastery located on cliff. The lunch will be served in Taksang cafeteria which gives a good view of whole Taksang. In the evening, walk to Paro town to buy sovounier for your friends and family back at home.

Day Eight:Depart from Bhutan
