Heartland of Bhutan(12 night & 13 days)

Day 01: Landing to heart of dragon

Travelling to Bhutan will give a good view of Himalayan ranges and view of great mountain peak in the world. Bird eye view from the flight will offer the forested mountainside and to the north great snowcapped peaks. Visitor in Bhutan experience clean air and happy atmosphere once they get off from flight in Paro.
Upon arrival in Paro, representative of Bhutan Guidance will greet you in Paro Airport and take you for sight seeing in paro

Day 02: Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit Kyichu Lhakhang built in 659AD by Tibetan king Songsen Gampo in single night. You can also visit Drukgyel dzong in ruined state which was built in 164 After breakfast, visit Kyichu Lhakhang built in 659AD by Tibetan king Songsen Gampo in single night. You can also visit Drukgyel dzong in ruined state which was built in 1649 to commemorate the victory from the Tibetan Invader. On a clear day, you can see the mountain Jhomolhari covered by snow capped.

Day 03: Paro-Thimphu

Morning drive to Thimphu or modern capital city of Bhutan and visited the following tourist site:
  1. National Memorial stupa built in 1974 in the memory of third king
  2. Buddha dordenma project site. 169ft Buddha statue and view of Thimphu city is possible.
  3. Tashi chhodzong or fortress of glorious religion which house the office for King and ministries.
  4. Takin Zoo: where National animal is preserved.
  5. Folk heritage museum showing Bhutanese lifestyle in the past.

Day 04: Thimphu-punakha

After breakfast,visit Semtokha dzong(oldest fortress in Bhutan,built in 1629) enroute to Punakha. On the way,you can enjoy the beautiful pass of Dochula(3050m) with 108 stupa on top hill. On clear day, you can see the beautiful peaks of Bhutan. In punakha you can visit Punakha dzong built in 1637 between Phochu(Male river) and Mochu(Female River). You can also visit Chimmi Lhakhang or temple of fertility.

Day05: Punakha - Wangduephodrang - Phobjikha

After breakfast, drive to wangduephodrang and visit the dzong which is perched on a spur at the confluence of two rivers. The Positon of the dzong is remarkable as it completely covers the spur and commands an impressive view both up and down the valley. Wangdue district is famous for its fine bamboo work, stone carving and slate which are mined up a valley a few kilometers from the town. The journey will come across rhododendron forest and beautifully valley. Once reaching Phobjikha, we will visit Gantey Goenpa monastery or one of the only Nyingmapa sects of Monastery in western Bhutan. Phobjikha is also winter habitat for black neck crane migrating from Tibetan plateau and it is also one of the loveliest high altitude valleys in Bhutan.

Day06: Gantey (Phobjikha) - Trongsa

After exploring the beauty of Phojikha valley, we will drive to Trongsa across pele-la pass(3300m).This pass is boundry between eastern and central Bhutan.further down the road, we will visit Chendebji chorten which has similar structure of Boudhanath stupa in Nepal. This chorten or stupa was erected by Tibetan saint to subdue the demon in 18th century.
The Landscape of Trongsa is impressive and Dzong is one of the longest dzong in Bhutan.

Day 07:Trongsa - Bumthang

Walk to Trongsa Dzong builtin 1647 by zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and it is one of the longest dzong(fortress) in Bhutan. We will climb up to Ta-Dzong(watch over) dedicated to the spic hero,king Gesar of ling.
We will drive further to Bumthang or second switzeland to Bhutan via Yu-tongla pass(3400M). The time to reach Bumthang takes 3hours from Trongsa. Once reaching Bumthang, we will visit:
  1. Kurje Monastery where Guru Guru rimpoche body is imprinted on rock
  2. Jambay Lhakhang founded in 7th century by Tibetan King Tsongsen Gampo
  3. Tamzhing monastery :housing some of the oldest wall paintings in Bhutan
  4. Jakar Dzon built in 17th century.
  5. Visit to village.

Day 08: Exploring Bumthang.

The Day will be spending in exploring the Bumthang valley or continuing the historical place which uncovered in previous day. Bumthang is pilgrimage centre to Buddhist living in and around the world. Bumthang is place where many great Buddhist saint visited and built the monastery for the benefit of Dharma flourish.

Day 09: Bumthang - Mongar

6 hours journey towards east will cover the valleys, cliff, waterfall and beautiful rhododendron forest. We will also cross Thrumshingla pass(4000m) or the highest point of motorable road network. Vegetation changes from alpine to subtropical with the loss of height and bamboo and luxuriant ferns overhang the road as we drop down to the valley floor.The lunch will be serving at a scenic spot enroute to Mongar. Once reaching Mongar, we will visit Mongar dzong which was built in 1930s and one of the newest dzongs , contructed in the same way as all the previous dzongs without plans or the use of nails.

Day 10: Mongar - Trashigang

The journey covers 96km and 3 hours driving. We will enjoy the beauty of leafy forest filled with ferns. After crossing Kori-la pass(2450m), marked by pretty chorten and mani wall, we will descend rapidly through corn field and banana groves to reach the famous zigzags just below Yadi.Trashigang (1100m) is the principal township of the biggest and most populated district in the country.
After lunch, we will visit Trashigang Dzong standing at the extreme end of a rocky mountain.It serves as administration seat for the district and local monastic community.

Day11: Trashigang (Excursion to Trashiyangtse)

After breakfast, we will drive to Trashiyangtse or 24km from Trashigang . The place is blessed by many monasteries and many saints in the past has step to this beautiful Trashiyangtse valley. We will visit to Gompo kora or famous monastery where Guru rimpoche has subdued a demon by trapping in a rock. We will move to Duksum village to experience the women weaving traditional Bhutanese fabric. The place is famous for its wooden container and bowls which makes inexpensive, attractive and useful souvenir. The more places to cover is Trashiyangtse dzong, ChortenKora and zorig chusm(Institute of learning 13 traditional art and crafts of Bhutan).
We will drive back to Trashigang

Day12: Trashigang - Samdrup jongkhar

After breakfast, we will drive to Samdrup jongkhar and along the way, we will pass by Sherubtse Collage in Kanglung which was founded in 1978 and is a degree granting affiliated to the University of Delhi. We will further drive to Khaling, home of the National institute for the disable and the weaving centre.From here; it is further 80km to Deothang, which is remembered in the history as the site of a famous 19th century battle fought during the Duar wars, in which the forces of the JIgme Namgyel defeated British. Now the road descends to the plains through dense tropical forest with abundance of teak, bamboo and ferns.

Day13: Samdrupjongkhar - Guwahati

After Breakfast, drive to Guwahati, the capital town of Assam to take your flight to Delhi/Kolkata to reach your onward destination.wish you pleasant Journey
